Junior Hockey's Royal Franchise:

The Regina Pats

Honoured by the International

Sports Heritage Association

2010 Communication

Awards

The International Sports Heritage Association has bestowed one of its highest honours on a recently released publication which chronicles the first 90 years of the Regina Pats.

The Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame and Museum (SSHFM) in conjunction with co-publisher, the Leader Post Foundation, is pleased to announce a First Place Award in the International Sports Heritage Association’s (ISHA) 2010 Communication Awards.

Junior Hockey’s Royal Franchise: The Regina Pats, published under the auspices of the SSHFM’s Sport History Project, won in the category of Books or Exhibit Catalogues for an Institution with an operating budget exceeding $250,000. This marks the fourth time that the SSHFM has won this award category with a submission from the Sport History Project. The last time was in 2007 with the publication, The Hilltops: A Canadian Junior Football Legacy, co-published with the Saskatoon Hilltops Football Club.

Junior Hockey’s Royal Franchise: The Regina Pats was written by Darrell Davis and Ron Johnston (who did all the research). It represents the first comprehensive recorded history for the 90 year old Regina Pats Hockey Club.
