By 11:15 - there were approximately 150 parents and kids that had already shown up, which included a large group of students from the Perry School. The riders arrived fifteen minutes late at 11:45. There was a time for interviews with the news media, followed by the kids who were allowed to get autographs from their favorite players. Various persons had time to speak to the public: A representative from Scotiabank Mr. Dawson, speaking on behalf of his family who had just lost their son due to cancer; Ron Robison (WHL Commissioner); and Barrett Jackman speaking on behalf of the Regina Pats.
