2009 - 2010 SEASON

Curtis Hunt becomes Regina Pats Head Coach. It is his second stint as head coach of the hockey team. Under Hunt's coaching, the Pats registered a pair of 40-win seasons; (40 wins in 2005-06 season and 44 wins in 2007-08 season) where Hunt led the Pats to their first East Division title in a decade. Curtis also had a 36 win season in the 2006-07 season.

Mike Sillinger hung up his skates after 17 seasons in the NHL, most recently with the New York Islanders. Edmonton Oilers General Manager, Steve Tambellini, announced today the appointment of Mike Sillinger to the position of Director of Player Development, (this will be his 13th NHL team).

On Friday, January 8, 2010, Regina Mayor Pat Fiacco - proclaims, as "Jordan Eberle and Colten Teubert Day. "Jordan and Colten are incredible young athletes and excellent ambassadors for Regina," said Mayor Fiacco. "In a time when sport celebrities don't always portray the image we would want children to emulate, Jordan and Colten are the kind of role models young people can look up to."

Eberle and Teubert represented Regina at two Team Canada showings at the World Junior Hockey Championship. Each were recognized for their leadership by being appointed assistant captains to the team during the 2010 tournament.


The United States earlier this year captured the World Junior Championship, while our Canadian women retained their gold medal last week and, This Sunday Canada defeated United States 3-2 in overtime for the Gold Medal in the Olympic Championship in men's hockey. It was Sid Crosby's goal at 7:20 in overtime to clinch the victory.
