The Pats get on the bus for their first real road trip of the 2012-13 Season.  The swing starts in Swift Current ton-night, when the Pats take on the Broncos for the first time this season.  The Broncos picked up three points on Opening Weekend with a 4-3 OT loss on the road to Moose Jaw, followed with Swift Current beating down the Warriors 7-1.

With the Pats trading defenceman Brent Underwood to Red Deer, they are now down to 4 twenty year olds.  Will Hewitt be the next to go?

The game at Swift Current will start at 8:00 p.m. (Regina Time) and will be broadcast on CKRM. 

Regina Pats had a terrible first period, being down 3-0.  They came back scoring four straight goals to get their first victory of the season. Morgan Klimchuck scored two goals, his second the winner in over time. It was Swift Current's second time giving up a big lead.

Pats next game: will be Friday at Kootenay, who as of tonight are win less in two games. 

First Period:  It was all Swift Current, scoring three goals: Josh Derko on a power play goal at 5:01, assisted by Dalton Reum, Graeme Craig.  They then went up 2-0 on a give away in the middle of the Pats zone when Zac Mackay whirled around snapped home his first WHL goal at 7:50. The Broncos finished the period when Justin Spagrud scored at 16:45 on a rebound over Matt Hewitt as he dove to attempt the save, assisted by Graham Black and Ryon Moser.

Second Period:  It was a reverse of the first period as Regina Pats scored two goals.  Lane Scheidl scoring at 10:03, then Pats scored a power play goal.  Morgan Klimchuk getting a back door pass from Scheidl at 15:55, also assisted by Emil Sylvegard.  Pats hand two golden chances to tie the score, Scheidl skated in shorthanded and hit the crossbar while Chandler Stephenson hit the goal post.

Third Period: In what was a fast period, Pats tied the score 3-3 at 14:55.  It was Dyson Stevenson winning the face-off and he then passed across the ice to Trent Ouellette who scored.

Score:  Tied 3-3; Shots: Swift Current 11-5

Over Time: The big hero was Morgan Klimchuk scoring his second goal at 2:08, a shot to the far post to give the visitors their first win of the season, assisted by Dyson Stevenson.
