Second Overall NHL Draft Pick Ryan Murray -

makes a rare appearance at the Brandt Centre

Parts taken from the Regina Pats Web Site:  The Pats only face Ryan Murray  (White City, just east of Regina) and the Everett Silvertips once this season.  Last year, it was the Pats heading into Everett and coming out with a 5-2 victory on the strength of a four point night from Jordan Weal as well as a goal and an assist off the stick of Chandler Stephenson.  The Pats come into this evening’s matchup after an overtime loss to Swift Current.  Meanwhile, the Silvertips came up with a come from behind overtime win in Brandon.  Tonight’s game can be heard on 620 CKRM, starting at 6:35 p.m. with the Press Box Pre-Game Show.

The Pats and Silvertips will be televised live on Access 7 with the broadcast starting shortly before puck drop.

It is nice to near the voice of Al Dumba, Ex-Pat and CKRM Pats colorman on the Press Box Pre-Game.  To fast goals by the Pats in just over a minute in the third period cave them a come from behind 4-3 victory, another game decided by just one goal, Pats seventh in eleventh games.  It was Teagan Sacher's first WHL win.

First Period:  It only took Regina Pats 24 seconds  as Morgan Klimchuk scored, assisted by Kyle Burroughs and Colby Williams.  Everette cam back with a power play goal at 6:23.  It was Reid Petryk scoring a upper shot under the cross bar.  Sloppy play by the Pats in front of the net caused the Everette Silver Tips  to go up 2-1. The visitors Trent Lofthouse scored, unassisted  at 13:00. .

Second Period:  Regina Pats had their chances to score as they got a 5 minute power play, but could not score.  Everette won the face-off by Ty Mappin and he passed the puck a cross the ice to Joshua Winquist who scored at 10:08, going up 3-1.  Five minutes later Luke Fenske, his first WHL goal scored.  A rebound, Luke drills it into the net at 14:56, assisted by Trent Ouellette and Lane Scheidl.

Score: Everette 3, Regina - 2; Shots: Regina 12 - Everette 6

Third Period:  Two quick goals near the fifteen minute mark of the period put Regina Pats up 4-3.  A cross way pass to Chandler Stephenson, drilled the puck into the net at 13:35, assisted by Lane Scheidl and Colby Williams.  Just over a minute later Dyson Stevenson took the puck out in front of the net and scored at 14:51, assisted by Lane Scheidl and Trent Ouellette.
