Greg was instrumental in the development of Alberta's, and Canada's, first indoor track and field/multi-sport facility – Edmonton’s Kinsmen Field House. Greg also served for nine years on the Board of Directors for the community owned Edmonton Eskimo Football Club. Greg Greenough's involvement in the international sporting scene began in 1978 as Chairman of the Venue Division and Director of the Commonwealth Games Federation and has continued ever since. His role in international sport has seen him involved in a number of different sports.
In the Equestrian world, he has held many positions including President of the Alberta Equestrian Federation, Vice Chairman of the Finance Committee of the International Equestrian Federation and for seven years was President of the Canadian Equestrian Federation. He currently is Treasurer of the Canadian Olympic Association and Chair of the National Sport Centre Calgary. International Games involvement includes executive committee positions on the Winnipeg Pan American Games 1999 and the 2010 Vancouver Whistler Bid committees.
