CALGARY 4 - REGINA 1 - on

From the Regina Pats Web Site: One dollar from every walk-up ticket goes to the Canadian Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Research.

The Pats host the Hitmen at the Brandt Centre for the first time of the 2012-13 campaign.  The Blue and White held a 2-2-0-0 record against Calgary last season.  Lane Scheidl and Dyson Stevenson led current Pats in scoring against the Hitmen with three points each.  Victor Rask was the top Calgary scorer against Regina with five points in four games.  Both teams head into tonight’s contest trying to break out of three game losing streaks.  You can listen to tonight’s game on 620 CKRM with the Press Box Sports Bar Pre-Game Show starting at 6:35.

Pats were down 2-1 with one minute remaining, then Brooks Mack scores two empty net goals.

First Period: What started in the Calgary Blue Line, resulted in Carson Samoridny scoring a back hand shot  that went off Pat Morgan Klimchuk's skate at 14:49, assisted by Cody Sylvester and Brooks Macer.

Penalties:  Calgary - Zane Jones (Tripping) 8:37                    

Score: Calgary 1 - Regina 0; Shots: Calgary 15 - Regina 11

Second Period: Calgary went up 2-0 on a power play. Hitmen's Spencer Humphries was open at the point, shot and scored at 16:01, assisted by Samoridy and Joey Kornelsen.  Just over a minute later the Regina Pats fourth line scored.  A pass by Adam Brooks to the front of the net and Kade Pilton scored at 17:10

Penalties:  Calgary - Spencer Humphries (Interference) 6:34; Regina - Harry Hardarson (Roughing) 14:53.   Regina - Kade Pilton (Roughing), Daine Henry (Roughing) 20:00

Third Period: It was Calgary 2-1 until the last minute of the period. Then it was Brooks Macek scoring two empty net goals. The first at 19:00 and the with 4.8 seconds remaining.
