Pats Take Victoria 3-2

A big two points on the line as the Pats complete the first leg of their swing

The Pats catch the ferry to visit the Royals for the first time since the team relocated to Victoria.  Regina’s last meeting with the Royals resulted in the Pats taking a 7-3 win on home ice.  Luke Fenske leads returning Pats against Victoria as he tallied four points in five games against the Royals last season.  The Pats come in after a hard fought shootout loss against Vancouver while the Royals rolled by Everett with a 4-0 victory.  Tonight’s game can be heard on 620 CKRM starting with the Press Box Sports Bar Pre-Game Show at 9:05 p.m.

After last evenings game, Regina Pats goaltender Matt Hewitt is in 2nd. place in the save percentage with .923%.  First place is Mac Carruth, Portland Winterhawks, with .947%  also he is in first place with goal average. Morgan Klimchuk was the hero scoring with just 25 seconds left.

Second Period:  Tyler Stahl shot a hard shot and scored a power play goal at 2:17. It give the home team Victoria the lead, assisted by Logan Nelson and Alex Gogolev.  Then Regina Pats scored two goal with in just over four minutes.  The first had Colten Mayer taking a point shot that hit the top corner at 15:58, assisted by Luke Fenske and Kyle Burroughs. The second had Adam Rossignol jamming away in front of the net before scoring at 19:05, assisted by Jack Rodewald and Fenske

Third Period:  Victoria tied the score at 2-2. Jordan Fransoo scores on a rebound at 17:28, assisted by Austin Carroll and Ben Walker.  With only 25 seconds remaining in the period, Morgan Klimchuk did it all as the Regina Pat players were heading to the players bench. He was behind the net came out and scored off the goal post, assisted by Colby Williams and Luke Fense.
