Pats Lost in Shoot Out Prince George 4-3

With points in their last three the Pats face the struggling Cougars

The Pats play the third game of their five game trip in Prince George.  The Cougars took last year’s confrontation by a 2-0 score, Drew Owsley had the shutout for PG.   The Pats head into this evening’s contest with points in their last three games and just one point out of second in the East Division.  The Cougars, meanwhile, have lost seven in a row.  Tonight’s game can be heard on 620 CKRM starting with the Press Box Sports Bar Pre-Game Show at 8:35 p.m.  CST.

Prince George have lost their last 6 games. Regina Pats out shot 25-8 at the end of the second period!

First Period:  At the eight minute mark Regina Pats went ahead 2-0 on their second and third shot of the period.  It was Dyson Stevenson winning the face-off, passing to Lance Scheidl who scored at 8:02.  Just 39 seconds later on a 2 0n 1 Scheidl scores his second goal, scoring on a wrist shot at 8:43, assisted by Morgan Klinchuk and Alex Theriau.

Second Period:  With Brad Morrison parked in front of the net, tipped in Dalla Ehrhardt's pass high over Regina Pats goaltender Matt Hewitt at 9:49, also assisted by Alex Forsberg.  Alex Forsberg was awarded a penalty shot at 14:05 only to have the puck go off Hewitt's pad.   Pats went up 3-1 just seconds later when Morgan Klimchuk scored at 14:16, assisted by Emil Sylvegard and Alex Theriau.  Pats fell apart as the home club scored two goals to tie the score at 3-3.  The first just over a minute later as Carson Bolduc on a back hand to the top corner at 15:28, unassisted.  The Cougars tied it at 3-3 with only 25 seconds remaining in the period.
