Pats LOST 6-3 in Saskatoon


This is the second meeting between the Pats and Blades.  Saskatoon opened the season series with a 3-2 victory at the Brandt Centre in a contest that saw the Pats put on a strong push late in the game, but failed just short. Lane Scheidl had two goals for the home-side Pats while Josh Nicholls tallied twice for the visiting Saskatoon Blades.  Matt Hewitt stopped 32 shots in the game while Andrey Makaroy turned away 12 in the final period.  The Pats head to Saskatoon after back-to-back three game victories over Prince Albert and Seattle. The Blades come into tonight's game with points in their last three games.  Tonight's game can be heard on 620 CKRM with the Press Box Sports Bar Pre-Game Show at 6:35 p.m.

First Period: Regina Pats took the lead as Brandon Christoffer right corner pass to Adam Rossignol who open in front of the net.  Adam scored at 4:37, also assisted by Luke Fenske.  Saskatoon Blades tied the score on a turn over as Matthew Pufahl did an individual effort, skates from the left point, skates in and scores on a back hand shot at 9:20, assisted by Nick Zajac and Lukas Sutter.  Saskatoon took the lead 2-1 as Shane McColgan made a cross the ice pass to Josh Nichols.  Shane scored on a power play, also assisted by Matthew Pufahl

Second Period: When on when will the Regina Pats learn that you cannot win a game from the penalty box.  Saskatoon early in the period went up 3-1 on a 5 on 3 power play.  It only took 9 seconds for Shane McColgan to score at 1:59, assisted by Mates Stransky and Pufal (His this point of the game).  The Blades went up 4-1 as Josh Nicholls scored at 4:05, assisted by McColgan and Stransky.  Saskatoon went up 5-1

Third Period: Regina scored two power play goals to make it 4-3.  Morgan Klimchuk scored at 8:51 off the goal post, assisted by Lane Scheidl and Colby Williams. Just less the three minutes later the same three, in order scored another power play goal at 11:46. Klimchuk, assisted by Scheidl and Williams
