KOOTENAY ICE  3-1

Part taken from Regina Pats Web Site:

Head-to-Head

The Regina Pats (38-24-3-3) and the Kootenay Ice (38-25-2-2) end their season series tonight at Western Financial Place.   It’s the fourth meeting between the teams with the Pats holding a 1-2-0-0 record against the Ice this season.  The last time the Pats and Ice squared off, the Blue and White took a 3-2 victory in Regina.  Braden Christoffer and Connor Gay lead the Queen City Kids against the Ice with a goal and an assist each in the season series.  Luke Philp leads the Ice into tonight’s contest with five points (2G, 3A) in three games against Regina this season.  Coming into their final meeting with the Ice, the Pats are back in the win column after taking a victory last night in Lethbridge.  Meanwhile, the Ice broke out of a two game slide with a 5-2 win over Medicine Hat yesterday evening.  This evening’s game can be heard on 620 CKRM starting at 7:35 p.m. CST

Playoff  Picture

The Pats got some help last night when the Red Deer Rebels beat the Swift Current Broncos by a 4-1 count.  That, combined with the Pats’ win over Lethbridge puts the Pats two wins (or Bronco losses) away from clinching the East Division without involving a tie-breaker.
