 Up 5-1 near the end of the second period, the Rebels scored to make it 5-2. In the third period they added three more goals to make it 5-4, only to see the Regina Pats hold onto win 5-4 and even the series 


The Regina Pats (2-2-0-0) defeated the Red Deer Rebels (2-2-0-0) 6-4 on Wednesday night to even their best-of-seven Eastern Conference Semi Final series at 2- Game Story: The Red Deer Rebels opened the scoring with just under seven minutes left in the first, thanks to Austin Strand.  In the waning minutes of the opening frame, the Pats' Connor Hobbs evened the score at one all.  A minute and thirty seconds later, Hobbs got his second of the night and fourth of the playoffs to take the lead 2-1.

Regina added three more in the second.  Luc Smith notched his first of the post-season to make it 3-1.  Regina’s Lane Zablocki got the next two, to push the home team's lead to 5-1.  His fifth of the playoffs proved to be the game winner.  Red Deer started to mount the comeback getting a late goal from Luke Philp to end the middle frame trailing 5-2.

In the third, Red Deer added two more goals from Nelson Nogier and Luke Philp to pull the visitors within one at 5-4.  That would be as close as this one got as Cole Sanford added an empty net goal to seal the victory 6-4.  The Pats Goaltender Tyler Brown turned away 44 shots to earn the victory.  The series now shifts back to Red Deer Friday night for Game 5.
